Summary: Many security, preparedness, response and recovery activities affect the operation, efficiency, safety, and mobility of the transportation system; functions for which the Department of Transportation and its Operating Administrations’ are responsible. The security policy staff advises DOT officials on proposed policies, plans and requirements concerning homeland and national security and the impact of the proposal on the mission and activities of the DOT. The staff also represents the Department in interagency discussions and deliberations during the development of homeland security policies and programs. Partner Agencies: The office is the primary point of contact with the White House Homeland Security Council, National Security Council, the Department of Homeland Security, Health and Human Services and other Federal agencies regarding policy issues relating to intelligence, security and emergency management.
Stakeholders: Modal administrations, OST offices, DHS, and other interagency partners and the White House Homeland Security Council staff.
