
Samuel Podberesky has been the Assistant General
Counsel for Aviation Enforcement and Proceedings at the U.S. Department of
Transportation since 1986. As such he heads an office of attorneys,
consumer protection specialists and support staff charged with enforcing the
aviation economic and civil rights laws of the U.S. including those protecting the
civil rights and other rights of airline passengers and those dealing with the
economic licensing of airlines. Mr. Podberesky received his B.S. in
Aerospace Engineering in 1967 from the University
of Maryland at College Park. He then worked as a flight test
engineer at the Boeing Co., Vertol Division. After that he attended the
University of Maryland School of Law and received a J.D. degree in 1971.
Following graduation from law school, Mr. Podberesky went to work for the
Federal Aviation Administration concentrating on Airworthiness Law.
Before assuming his current position, he also served as Deputy Assistant
General Counsel for Regulation and Enforcement at the Department of
Transportation.
