WHO WE ARE

 

The Office of the Senior Procurement Executive is responsible for finding the best business solutions to accomplish DOT missions by creating tools, policies and procedures to ensure effective and creative use of DOT's acquisition and grants business processes.

The Business Policy Division is responsible for Departmental implementation of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) policy and procedures through the Transportation Acquisition Regulation (TAR) and the Transportation Acquisition Manual (TAM) and for implementing Departmental grants policies and regulations.  The division also manages the Department's acquisition career program, collaborates with the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization to enhance DOT's small business procurement program, and implements other grants management initiatives.

The Business Strategies Division develops and implements tools and techniques to improve DOT's acquisition and grants business processes.  Responsibilities include competitive sourcing, DOT's procurement performance management program, capital planning, E-Government initiatives and outreach to industry.

The Acquisition Services Division is the operational arm of the Senior Procurement Executive's office.  This division awards and administers business arrangements, including contracts and grants, for the Office of the Secretary, Bureau of Transportation Statistics,  Office of the Inspector General and the Surface Transportation Board.
