DOT FY 2011

SERVICE CONTRACT INVENTORY

In accordance with Section 743 of Division C of the FY 2010 Consolidated Appropriations Act, P.L. 111-117, the Department of Transportation is pleased to provide its Fiscal Year 2011 inventory of service contracts Fiscal Year 2011 Service Contract Inventory. 

This inventory provides a useful tool for assisting the Department in better understanding how contracted services are being used to support mission and operations and ensuring that contractors’ skills are being utilized in an appropriate manner.  Through the use of this inventory, the Department has the ability to gain insight into where, and the extent to which, contractors are being used to perform activities by analyzing how contracted resources are distributed by function and location across the agency and within its components. 

This inventory shows 6926 services contracts awarded by the Department of Transportation in Fiscal year 2011.  The total dollar value of these awards was approximately $4 billion.  These contracts covered services ranging from engineering services to janitorial services. Small businesses made up 34% of those vendors receiving DOT service contract awards.
