Govermentwide Recycling Requirements

• All Procuring Agencies using Federal funds are required by Section 6002 of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (42 USC 6962) to have a program to purchase recycled products.
  
  
• As required in 42 USC 6962(a), agencies that purchase over $10,000 worth of covered items must comply with the EPA rule.
  
  
• The EPA maintains Comprehensive Procurement Guidelines (CPG) that list the items covered by RCRA.
