Distracted Driving Awareness Month ends today; the need for attentive driving continues

As National Distracted Driving Awareness Month comes to a close, we are not about to slow down in our efforts to increase road safety and raise awareness about the consequences of distracted driving.

In fact, just earlier this week Secretary Foxx was at the Harvard School of Public Health at a distracted driving forum co-hosted by The Huffington Post. And the GROW AMERICA bill that the Secretary sent to Congress yesterday contains more than $7 billion over four years to improve safety for all road users, with additional funding through the Federal Highway Administration to make capital improvements to advance safety.

We're also proud to note that the "If You're Texting, You're NOT Driving" public service announcements that we launched at the beginning of the month have garnered more than 4 million views online and have been seen by millions more on America's television networks.

We want to close the month by sharing the latest video from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. We hope that Liz Marks' story will remind you of what's at stake when we say #JustDrive. Please watch this brave testimony from Liz and her mother Betty, and share it with your loved ones.
