USDOT and MADD to Unveil $11 Million Advertising Campaign For National
You Drink & Drive. You Lose. Law Enforcement Campaign

At 9 a.m. Thursday, June 19 in Washington, DC, U.S. Transportation Secretary Norman Y. Mineta will unveil the first ever You Drink & Drive. You Lose. media campaign.  The advertising campaign will air throughout the country in support of a nationwide July 4th holiday enforcement crackdown.

The $11 million advertising campaign will begin June 20 to alert motorists to the crackdown, which runs June 27-July 13. The ads will run on selected programs that appeal to 21-34 year-old men, which is the demographic group most likely to drive impaired. The ads focus on consequences that should concern this high-risk group: increased likelihood of being arrested, handcuffed and booked.
