and MADD to Unveil $11 Million Advertising Campaign For National
You Drink &
Drive. You Lose. Law Enforcement Campaign
At
9 a.m. Thursday, June 19 in Washington, DC, U.S. Transportation Secretary Norman
Y. Mineta will unveil the first ever You Drink & Drive. You Lose. media
campaign. The advertising campaign
will air throughout the country in support of a nationwide July 4th holiday
enforcement crackdown.
The
$11 million advertising campaign will begin June 20 to alert motorists to the
crackdown, which runs June 27-July 13. The ads will run on selected programs
that appeal to 21-34 year-old men, which is the demographic group most likely to
drive impaired. The ads focus on consequences that should concern this high-risk
group: increased likelihood of being arrested, handcuffed and booked.
