U.S. Transportation Secretary Mineta to Announce Grant to San Francisco Municipal Railway (MUNI)
SAN FRANCISCO – On Sunday, Sept. 14th, U.S. Secretary of
Transportation Norman Y. Mineta will announce a major grant to improve transit
safety and security and to construct a new bus maintenance facility in San
Francisco.
Secretary Mineta will announce a $4,918,393 grant, which will fund a portion of
the construction costs of MUNI’s new bus maintenance facility at Islais Creek
and improve security within the transit system.
