$1.4 Million in Federal Funding Awarded to King County DOT
Federal Transit Administrator Jennifer L. Dorn today announced a $1.4 million grant in Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funds to the King County Department of Transportation (DOT).
The grant awarded today, in the amount of $1,471,463, will provide documentation of the environmental and preliminary engineering processes for reconfiguring the Atlantic and Central bus bases, located in the south downtown area of Seattle.
“This Administration believes that efficient public transportation is a strategic investment,” said Administrator Dorn. “This grant reinforces that belief and will help King County DOT provide safe, efficient and reliable transportation service for the residents of Seattle and surrounding areas.”
Administrator Dorn made the announcement at the County Courthouse in downtown Seattle, followed by a tour of the bus tunnel and south downtown facilities with officials from the King County DOT.
