Sandy Bushue named Deputy Administrator of the Federal Transit Administration

Transportation Secretary Norman Y. Mineta recently welcomed Sandy Bushue as the Deputy Administrator for the Federal Transit Administration.

Since 2000, Bushue was at Siemens USA, where she held the title of Vice President, Business Development, Transportation and Homeland Security, the company’s primary contact for homeland security and transportation business opportunities.

Noting that Bushue has held senior positions in both the private sector and federal government, Mineta said, “Sandy has seen both sides of the process, and is the ideal person to help us to improve the management and efficiency of our transit programs.”

Prior to joining Siemens, she served as the Deputy Director of the National Commission on Intermodal Transportation, and held positions with the Greater Washington Board of Trade and two Washington law firms.

During the administrations of President Reagan and President George H.W. Bush, she served as Special Assistant to the Secretary of Transportation, and White House Director of Programs.

Bushue graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Communications from Eureka College in 1982, and received an M.B.A. from George Mason University in 1995.  She also served as a Fellow at the Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership in 1998, and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Eureka College.
