Federal Transit Administrator Announces Funding for City of Everett, WA
Federal Transit Administrator Jennifer L. Dorn, joined by Representative Richard R. Larsen, today announced a grant of $1.4 million in Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funds to Everett Transit in Everett, WA.
The grant announced today, in the amount of $1,485,472 will allow Everett Transit to replace approximately four buses currently in its fleet that have reached the end of their useful life. These replacement vehicles offer cleaner and more attractive service for the city of Everett and surrounding areas.
“President Bush has proposed $7.2 billion for the Federal Transit Program as part of the FY 2003 budget, further reinforcing the Administration’s belief that efficient public transportation is a strategic investment,” said Administrator Dorn. “Everett Transit is providing safe and reliable transit services while conserving energy and protecting the environment.”
Administrator Dorn made the announcement at the Everett Station Multi-Modal Center, where she was given a tour of the facility.
