The Maritime Administration (MARAD), in cooperation with the U.S. Coast Guard, will soon begin a voluntary certification program for providers of maritime security training. Training providers in the United States wishing to receive course approval will be invited to submit applications to MARAD. There will be no cost to training providers for the processing of applications. Details of the program will be announced in the Federal Register and on the MARAD web site in late January.
